The Respect For Marriage Act 117th Congress

Last month, Congress passed in the lame duck session, The Respect for Marriage Act.

 This federal law expands the definition of marriage to recognize marriage between a man and a man or between a woman and a woman.  

Unfortunately, this law will be used as a weapon against religious freedom because it allows a private cause of action against an individual or an organization that’s religious if they are a participant in any sort of federal program, and their beliefs hold that marriage is between a man and a woman.
